Graced Moms Introduction

From home, to work, to hobbies and everything in-between; women often find themselves baring the burdens of the world and are often left depleted. According to Stanford’s Children’s Health (2020), 78 percent of all mothers with kids ages 6 to 17 in the United States work in paid jobs. CNBC.com (December 2020) reported that in 2019,  out of the 35 million working mothers in the U.S., 9.8 million of these working mothers suffered from workplace burnout. Reportedly, this was largely due to the unequal demands of the home and work that are placed on working mothers.

So often,  and for generations before, woman have  put themselves on the back-burner; driving themselves into mental, emotional and physical exhaustion, all while uplifting and ensuring the well-being of those around them. To make matters worse, woman are often made to feel guilty for having the audacity to say “no” or when choosing to prioritize our own needs, wellbeing, and desires. Considering this, many of us are often left feeling alienated, defeated, misunderstood and left thinking, who takes care of me? Who nurtures the nurturer?

If you have found yourself feeling this way or asking this question, this blog is for you! Cassondra Dee – Graced Moms is the answer to that question.  Graced Moms was created with you in mind! Graced Moms seek to provide you with the validation, skills and resources to resiliently, bodily and relentlessly be a present mom and an unapologetic, ambitious and accomplished employee, entrepreneur, ect.

Cassondra Dee, Graced Moms, is a website/blog for working moms who struggle with taking care of themselves while taking care of everyone else. Moms who feel like they aren’t allowed to be ambitious and raise a family at the same time. For moms who feel an overwhelming sense of guilt for daring to dream and see these dreams through without feeling selfish and insufficient. This website/blog was created for you!

Graced-Moms’ origin is rooted in the belief that, as women, it’s our divine responsibility to care for ourselves FIRST! We believe that we care for ourselves by doing what is best for us in each moment. Rather that is choosing to take a nap over doing the dishes, using “no” as a complete sentence, asserting a boundary, taking a 30 minute shower for a sense of solitude, or asking for help because we need a break.  We are here to uplift, enlighten, empower and validate each other through a community of support for working moms who may share similar struggles, face similar obstacles and to exchange stories and experiences about overcoming some these obstacles.

It is my hope that you join our community of “Graced Moms” on this journey to dismantle the stigmas associated with  traditional motherhood and to pave a pathway for moms choosing to do things a bit differently.

Cassondra Dennis,

A mom who chooses GRACE
